Bears Defensive Back Douglas Coleman III Hospitalized After Injury

  KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Chicago Bears defensive back Douglas Coleman III was hospitalized after suffering an injury during a tackle in Thursday night's preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The injury occurred on the first play from scrimmage in the second half when Coleman tackled Chiefs wide receiver Cornell Powell near the sideline. As players from both teams gathered around him, Coleman was placed on a stabilizing board and then a stretcher. He was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. After the game, Bears coach Matt Eberflus said Coleman did have movement in his limbs and had even given a thumbs-up to players and coaches before being carted off the field. However, the team did not provide any further updates on his condition.
